This homeowner saw our mailer ad for a premium gutter system and decided it was time for an upgrade. The existing seamed K-style gutters were not keeping up with the trees close to the house.

After meeting with our salesman Kevin Feldewerd, the homeowner decided to replace all but one section with Gutter Shutter. The home had several uneven rooflines, leading to multiple gutter runs needing to connect indirectly. The previous system accomplished this by inefficiently dumping water onto the shingles to make its way into the gutter, as seen in the photo.

To provide more efficient flow and 100% water capture, our installers cut directly into the hood and inserted the other run in. This direct connection blocks debris, creates a much cleaner look, and prevents any risk of damage to the roof.

Ed was in the market to put a first gutter system on his home. After receiving a company postcard in the mail, Ed called up our office and got an appointment set up with Kevin, our Minnesota salesman. Once he had a full installation plan in hand and saw a demonstration of our product, he signed off on the work and got our production department moving.

In these photos, you can easily see the step-style fascia boards. To properly mount a gutter, a flush surface is needed to maintain the flow of the system and keep the water following the trough. We make this flush by bending up metal flashing at a 90 degree angle twice, creating a square shape that adds depth to the recessed fascia board. In the installed photo, it is easy to see how the lower half of the gutter is not sitting against the lower board.

Job Stories From Buffalo, MN
Buffalo, MN

The front side of Ed's home in Buffalo, MN was not protected by a gutter system through the winter. After watching icicles build up on his roof edge, he was in the market for putting a protective system on to shelter a deck leading to his front door and cover some bushes. Luckily, one of our direct mail ads found Ed early in his search, and he quickly got a hold of our office to set up an appointment for a free estimate of installation. Kevin Feldewerd, our Minnesota salesman, was ready to draw up a proposal just a few days later.

Ed's job appeared simple from the start, just three pieces of the roofline, each under 30 feet and all connected by miters. However, Kevin noticed the step-style fascia. To properly mount our system flush with the fascia, we would need to bend up a J-channel flashing to create a flat surface. Furthermore, one of the roofline corners was not a 90 degree angle, requiring a special bay miter to perfectly match the angle and create a secure seamed connection between the two gutter runs. The 65 feet of clay Gutter Shutter would require two downspouts to properly drain. One would be placed just past the deck, roughly in the middle, while the other would capture all the water headed to the far end.

Once Ed reviewed the plan and gave it the OK, our production department was ready to get the job done as soon as the snow melted. If you have any water problems with your home, Gutter Shutter of St. Cloud is ready to provide a solution. Full House Gutter Shutter Project in Buffalo, MN

The open-style gutters on Al's house in Buffalo, MN were somewhat damaged during summer storms that swept through the area. While the gutters remained functional overall, the wear and tear was enough for Al to begin searching for a replacement system. One of our storm damage mailers made it to Al and he decided to explore our product. He had some familiarity with other seamless hooded systems, but set up a free estimate appointment to learn more about our gutter protection system.

Kevin Feldewerd, our regional Minnesota salesman, was ready to provide a demonstration and draw up a gutter replacement plan for Al. Everything was planned for replacement except a 2nd story section that was already equipped with a gutter cover product. Several downspout positions would be adjusted with our installation and multiple pieces would be installed as a direct into-gutter connection. This allows us to set the downspout right into the trough of the next gutter section by cutting into the Gutter Shutter hood, ensuring 100% water capture in the transfer. In total, the house would need 136 feet of white Gutter Shutter with a solid-style hood to provide extra anti-clogging protection.

Al was impressed by the plan and improvements it offered to his current system. After he signed off on the project, our production department started its process to get the gutters installed. Two weeks later, a crew made it out to his home and installed all 136 feet of seamless gutters and new sections of downspout within a day!
