River Side Living
Challenge
In the land of 10,000 lakes and rolling hills many homes are built on top of hills, at the bottom of hills, into hills, any which way they can. With this comes many water issues no matter which location you are on the hillside. One of our homeowners has a house built into a hill overlooking a beautiful lakeside patio. For the life of this home the homeowners have been dealing with water washing out their landscape, all the water coming towards their home's foundation, and gathering on the patio.
Solution
With Gutter Shutter we want to help everyone protect their home to the best of their ability, here is what we did.
We recently worked with this homeowner, as he got his landscape redone, with a brand-new retaining wall, patio and drain tile. We installed some Gutter Shutter on the roof line above the patio and ran the downspout to a newly installed drain tile. Before we connected into the drain tile, we added in a Catch Basin. This Catch Basin will allow us to gather not only water from the downspout but also from the surrounding landscape. Our goal with this is to have as much water as possible flow into the drain tile and move away from the house foundation, patio and retaining wall.
